I love Ypsilanti to my core. There is a resonant joy in this town that fills my soul.

I moved outside at the coffee shop and now I get to hear the singing of people as they walk down the street or are driving slowly through town.

A perfect iced coffee at my favorite coffee shop in Ypsilanti, Cafe Liv!

I am teaching my way through the book of Acts at the moment. The two things that I am confronted with on almost every page:

  1. There’s only “us” and no “we/them”, in Christ there is no “other.”

  2. “Presence” is central to following Christ.

“Commands assume freedom and encourage response. Addressed by commands we are trained in response-ability.” Currently reading: Run with the Horses by Eugene H. Peterson 📚

Reading and enjoying a nice smoke on my patio while overlooking a freshly mown lawn. #lifeisgood

“What we do in secret determines the soundness of who we are in public. Prayer is the secret work that develops a life that is thoroughly authentic and deeply human.”

“Prayer is the act in which we approach God as living person, a thou to whom we speak, not an it that we talk about.” — Eugene Peterson, Run With Horses

A ball field on a beautiful night is one of my happy places.

What a beautiful day to spend on the patio of my favorite Flint Area Coffee Shop, The Station!

I rolled into one of my favortie mite coffee shops today, The Station (in Flushing, MI), and it is hopping! There’s just something life giving about being in a place where are there conversations, laughter, and the gentle hum of life.

These days there’s so much real life, in person, doing all the things that I have struggled to create a rhythm to write and create.

One of my goals this week is to block time to create and publish.
