I am still processing this quote from my reading last night. This is part of Bonhoeffer’s conclusion on a talk on the prayer, “Thy kingdom come.”

Too often the American Church has derided struggle as a sign of not keeping “in step with the Spirit.”

Yet, as we read the Scripture we see over and over again that struggle is central to inbreaking of the kingdom of God.

I’m sitting here trying to prep for Sunday. I’m doing an overview of 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus. Let me tell you, these letters are a tough read today.

Sometimes a cold beer and a quiet pub are what one needs to get necessary work accomplished.

Pastors, we are about to see another massive amount of faith deconstruction.

“And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.” 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15

I hope we will be encouragers of the disheartened.
